All Wood Unfinished Furniture Coeur d Alene, Post Falls & American Unfinished Furniture Spokane

It was sad to see two unfinished furniture stores close in a short period of each other. All Wood originally in Coeur d Alene Idaho, which had recently moved to Post Falls Idaho, closed nearly the same time as American Unfinished furniture store of Spokane Washington.

Each of the businesses closed for different reasons. It left a void in the area for many of those that desired a quality unfinished piece of furniture finished their way.

Inspired American Decor of Coeur d' Alene has stepped up to the plate as the regions unfinished furniture dealer. Inspired American Decor had already been in the unfinished furniture industry and it was only natural for them to assume the role. They have already helped several people that needed assistance after the closure.

Unfinished furniture has proven for years to offer a real solid wood quality that is built to last. In fact, unfinished furniture most often has a higher quality level than much of the finished furniture seen today.

Inspired American Decor is not a new comer to furniture as they have been retailing furniture and working with unfinished for the past 5 years.

Inspired American Decor can be reached at 208.664.8876 or you can stop in and see them at the northwest corner of hwy95 and Appleway in Coeur d Alene.

Reclaimed Wood Dining Table - Barnwood

So your in search of a reclaimed wood or barn wood dining table. Great!

This article is designed to give you some starting points on what to look for in your selection. I would like first point out that reclaimed barnwood dining tables are not all the same quality.

Image Credit By IAdecor.com, As a furniture expert, I have found that even the highest dollar reclaimed wood dining tables are not always the quality you are paying for. In fact, I have personally seen warped tops, shiny nails showing, splintering and unacceptable cracking and poor design layouts some of which were even in high dollar furniture showrooms.

Unfortunately, the reclaimed industry has also brought out the amateur craftsman that works out of their home or garage. Their low price tag in many cases can tip this off. Although a small portion of the home craftsman may make a nice product, something to consider is that they have much less to lose in their reputation as a business trying to maintain a good reputation.

In finding a quality reclaimed wood dining table online, here are some tips that I hope will help.
Look for images and sites that have a more professional presentation.

- Look for product images that look professionally done. This can be a good starting point for quality and that they take pride in their product.

For instance, if you are looking at a rustic dining table with a poor image quality or background that is of the front of a garage or perhaps inside a shop may prove not be your best choice. A professional would typically have a setting in a retail showroom, quality images, etc.

- I suggest staying away from tables that boast a hand waxed finish unless it also mentions a quality clear coat. Otherwise, you will be finding water rings, a dry look, etc. that will drive you batty. I know by experience.

- Take your time in looking over the website and the images. This will give you a better feel for the company and their quality.

- Make sure they are easy to contact. An 800 number is also a good sign of professionalism. You might even want to personally call them.

- Consider a smoother finish rather than a reclaimed barnwood table that has a rough finish. Some hints of weathered is one thing and simply sanded is another. This will save you so much grief when trying to wipe it down. If it is a reclaimed barnwood table with a rough finish, you will find lint everywhere left behind from the cleaning cloth that got stuck in the slivers.

- Make sure they can easily ship nationally as well. If they don't have much shipping experience you will likely find it to be very expensive to ship and likely receive damaged goods.

- Don't get caught up in the 'Free Shipping'. Really, is it really free shipping? Believe me, it is somewhere in the price. There are two ways that people get the shipping cost, either blatantly listed or saying free but putting the cost of shipping in the main price.

- Look for details- Perhaps one of the biggest differences I have seen is in the details such as inlays, how the wood character looks, pegs, etc. I

In conclusion, reclaimed wood dining tables can make a wonderful addition to your home and be a wonderful choice for longevity, quality and going green! It can also give you a worry free environment due to its natural distress markings, etc.
